Outdoor LCD and Plasma Enclosures for Digital Signage Displays

Digital signage has many advantages over traditional forms of advertising, branding and promotion. First of all, digital posters, out of home TV advertising and digital outdoor signage are far more engaging and eye-catching to an audience compared to traditional forms of static media. The moving images, bright colours and transitions draw the eye, far more so than staid and flat posters.

Secondly, as these screens can be networked together content can be uploaded remotely and in real time, so not only can campaigns be scheduled for specific times but new adverts do not require somebody to travel to the locations to erect new posters and billboards. This saves both costs in employing a technician and makes them a greener alternative.

And as a single LCD screen can be used to replay multiple advertisements it is a real boon for advertising companies who can maximise the revenue from each screen. The content can also be scheduled for relevant times of day, enabling for the first time, the targeting of specific audiences by outdoor advertisers.

Whether the digital signage is using a plasma display of an LCD television, the device will still need protecting, not just for digital outdoor signage but even in indoor areas as these flat panel devices need protecting otherwise the screens will not last anywhere near as long as the manufacturers expectations.

There are various problems with using plasma and LCD screens out of home. These devices are designed to operate in the comparative clean conditions of a living room where temperatures never exceed or fall below the optimum, and the environment is free from excessive dust, moisture, rainfall and other hazardous elements.

Even indoor digital signage systems are unlikely to operate in such optimum environments. Shopping malls and retail units are often a lot dustier than our homes and temperatures are often not kept at the optimum level for using such flat panel devices.

Impacts and unwanted attention from vandals are also another hazard that these out of home devices have to endure. When the screens are taken outside as outdoor digital signage the problems are compounded by the weather and extreme variations in temperature that effect the different seasons.

Keeping these devices protected, however, is relatively simple - no matter what location the digital signage screens are intended to be mounted. LCD and plasma enclosures are a simple and cost effective solution for protecting digital signage screens in almost any location.

These digital signage enclosures house standard devices, either LCD or plasma, in various different sizes from small 20" LCD enclosures to giant 70" plasma enclosures. The enclosures keep these standard devices protected from all sorts of hazards such as: the weather, manufactured as they are to IP65 and NEMA 4 which ensure they are waterproof; temperature, either sub zero or excessively hot ambient temperatures can be countered; and impacts, either accidental or deliberate.

The LCD and plasma enclosures make a cost effective and simple method of using standard flat panel TVs to be used for digital signage. Either indoors or for outdoor digital signage these LCD and plasma enclosures provide comprehensive, all-round, all weather protection for outdoor TV use and digital signage.
